There are only so many websites, blogs and forums you can read online before deep, deep boredom sets in.
I've been sat here, willing the temperature to go up - to no avail. I'm sure I saw some rain falling about an hour ago (staring through the light of an orange street-light sends you gozzy-eyed after a few minutes), things have got that bad.
In a fit of pique, I decided to be pro-active, using the free time wisely and clean the sections of my pole yesterday and immediately wished I hadn't. Of the four chairs around our kitchen table, the backs of three were covered with a selection of coats, tea-towels and cardigans - apart from one. That was the one I dropped the thick end of my no 8 section on - resulting in a lovely big crack in it. "Oh deary me, what a silly thing I've done" I exclaimed out loud (as is my want at such times of crisis). The neighbours thought I'd screamed something else when they knocked soon after - wondering who had been shot, stabbed or strangled....
Jimmy has been on the canal - climbing trees to recover floats he lost in October - such are the lengths some of us will go to relieve the boredom. In a way, I can understand why he did it - he must be down to his last 150 Preston Classic 4s now - you have to look after your gear...
I'm now almost an expert on the different types of flat-screen tellies - I wanted to buy one last week and decided to compare them; big mistake. I walked out of Currys with my ears bleeding after a sales chap tried to flog something to me - we're sticking with the one we've got for now; for the sake of my sanity if nowt else.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to work tomorrow; if there's more snow when I wake up - I dunno what other 'pleasantries' the neighbours will hear...
