W&DAA Flyer: Cowling

What a waste of time that was...

Drew in the bay on the favoured skimmers peg and looked to be set for a decent match after skimmers on the first few put-ins. The wind picked up from nowhere and it went very gloomy, with bites petering out to nothing - anywhere I tried.

Before the start, 'Mr. Shopability' drove straight into my pole roller and bent one of the legs into a lovely curvy shape. He stopped long enough to admire his handiwork, then just drove off!! All I heard him say was "I'm blind in that eye - I didn't see it". All I shouted after him was "If you can't see owt down that side, what's going to happen when you come back - are you going to drive into the cut - you pillock??" No answer - he was off down the bank in true Brian Potter style.

By one o'clock, I was decidely pissed-off with the lack of activity and I was getting another headache. It'd been lingering since I awoke at 6:30, so off I toddled home - shame the peg didn't live up to its billing, but there's always next time.

There's an open match on the Sluice tomorrow - see the SDAA website for the times, etc.

If you can't manage that - it's as follows:

Draw is 08:45 at the First Plank (co-ordinates for Googlemaps are - 53.665851,-2.927194)

Fish 09:45 - 14:45.

£6:00 all-in.

This is a practice for the £20 open match on Sunday 13th September
