There were plenty of fish caught and some good weights figured. Terry wasn't too chuffed when a fish took his top 3 clean off his pole, but still managed to finish strongly fin third place.
Graham had a nice net of roach on the shell for second place.
I got lucky tonight with a couple of slabs - the bigger of the pair being caught on a 0.06 hooklength, Sensas 3405 wire hook and 4s elastic!! It was a good lesson in deep breathing and 'no sudden movements', I can tell you. I had some nice hybrids to 2lb and some nice roach on the maggot. I was given a free acrobatic show by a Pike tonight - it grabbed a skimmer I was bringing in, then literally 'took off' - clean out of the water. It was a rare old beast and there was very little (if any) chance of me getting it out. I finished up with 13lb 6oz, giving me first place.
The nights are certainly drawing-in now, with any more than 3 hours being practically impossible. One more Monday nighter left, followed by the day match on Bank holiday Monday will see the end of the flyers for another year.
