It's definitely a bridge...

Just a quick update - I went down have a look-see yesterday after work and ended up being the site gopher for a few hours. It wasn't as hot as today, but still very hot nonetheless.

The handrail was in place (tastefully finished at either end) and the kick rail was half-done when I got there. I gave Derek a hand setting up the steel and clamping it in position as Eddie followed - welding it into place.

Other than that, my duties were tidying up and shifting stuff out of the way. Had I not had as busy a week, I might've got down there a bit more, but the chaps seemed to have matters well in hand. All that remains to be done on the structure are a few coats of paint followed by the installation of the walkway (dog-proof). Once the ends are shuttered into some concrete, the bridge will be ready for the new season. It's a great improvement on the old bridge which had served so well for so long. This one will allow everyone to get across to the top bank without that nasty incline at the other end of the bridge (and the awkward descent on the return journey)

Well done to all concerned - including Fairky who had to hand-ball all the pre-form because the irrigation rig was in the way of his wagon last Friday...
