After last week's ever so slight (blink & you'd miss it) improvement, we were hoping for a bit more today and so it proved, despite the (frankly) atrocious conditions. It blew a hooly and was bitterly cold into the bargain. There was dabs of snow, hailstones and plenty of rain but that didn't stop us moving away from the basement on the overall table - 36 points took us up to joint 12th after round 3.
There were more water skills on display today after more pole sections turned turtle. One lucky swimmer retrieved his missing section (Pete Lucas has the picture on the Standish MG blog) and I've yet to hear the details of the other - although having done the drip test on Wrighty, it definitely wasn't him. In fact, none of our team failed the squelch test in the car park, so we had a clean bill of health for a change...
Onwards and upwards to the final round of the Teams of Four league, which will be at Crooke. Lets hope we continue to improve and move a bit further up the final league table.
