W&DAA Teams of Four R2 - Appley Bridge

We're making progress - it's slow, you might not notice it; but we're definitely making positive progress.

We finished joint 9th on the day and from a personal point of view I was well chuffed with what started out as a horror show in the making. I was in C section up past the 2nd swing bridge on the concrete. The water level was showing at least eighteen inches down and it was looking like a heart-breaker of a peg - 5" deep at 11m and 2' deep under my feet. I eventually settled for fishing off the concrete to one side and had four chublets for 1-0-0. I was beaten into 2nd in the section by Ant Marsden with a snig and a little billy for 1-0-12.

The other lads in the team struggled in scenes reminiscent of last week - two double figure returns and one of 9 points. No-one can be faulted for effort, I'm just crap at drawing...

On a sad and depressing note, some low-life scum took it upon themselves to steal an anglers pole holdall & contents today, while he was weighing-in the other anglers in his section. The thieves obviously knew what they were about and left the poor guy is a severe state of shock. Having witnessed people in similar levels of distress in the past, I was genuinely fearful for him. I hope the scum are apprehended and the angler is re-united with his gear ASAP. Times are hard enough without opportunist arseholes pulling stunts like this.

Next week is at Heatons Bridge, with the draw at the Slipway (as per last week). For those who think they need practise, the flyer is at Adlington Marina (likely Spring League venue) on Wednesday - draw 10:00am, fish 11:00 - 3:00. £7.00 all-in.
