The weather continues to be 'controversial' with a bitter wind in our faces today on the Fearns Bridge side of Sollom. I was on the tins and had no cover in front of me - cue a tingly face and dead fingers for five hours; which is exactly what happened.
Bread wasn't doing it today, with only a couple of roach falling to butty in my peg. I fished at 13m for the vast majority of the match which wasn't easy but could've been a lot, lot worse. I caught a few skimmers for 1-15-0, but I ended-up as 'first misser' behind Dennis Buck, Steve Powley and Glyn (I hate Mavers, me - but have I told you how good Kingsmill Gold is?) Taylor - who had to rely on a Pike to get himself in the money. I don't understand why Pike are allowed - it leaves the door open for allsorts of nefarious tactics - but it's in the rules so that's that.
Nowt much else to report really - my new (but previously cherished - lol) pole behaved itself and was nice to use - even in that wind. Surrender monkey was trying to think up a new name for Trevor, but he's known as Trev, so there's not much point really.
Sight of the day was the nut-job on the Queen Mary who (despite the bow thrusters, steering wheel and a navigator next him) managed to hit a moored boat on his way to Rufford. The moored boat was right next to me and he hit it with an almighty thump. Still, he sailed on - oblivious to the damage he may/may not have done. Bloody boaters...

Dunno what's happening next week; it's the Gratton Shield at Burscough so I may go there - then again, the SDAA flyer is at Spark Bridge so I might go there too...
