Swine flu - don't believe the Government spin.

After feeling decidely ropey for the last few days, I had a look at the online assistance website the NHS have launched.

After answering all the questions, it popped up with a list of recommendations and an authorisation code for one course of treatment!!

The directions given were to a health centre in Litherland, so thats where SWMBO has been this afternoon. In a typical case of public-sector buffoonery, when she arrived at Litherland she was told that wasn't the collection point and was directed to a chemist's shop in Bootle. Off she went toBootle and picked up the medication. It was as she was leaving the shop that she was given a list of places in Sefton which are collection points - including the chemist in bloody Bispham Road - half a mile from our house!!

As my dear-departed Nan used to say "it's enough to make you spit!" A 36-mile round trip for something we could've got a few minutes away. There were others who had come from Southport in the chemist's in Bootle, so I suspect a few complaints are going to be sent - I've already sent mine.

So that's me confined to the house for another week, which means someone else will have to try & beat Pinocchio Johnson on Sunday & Monday. To be honest, I'm not that bothered about missing matches at present - don't believe the crap on the news. It's not a mild or modest illness - it's bloody horrible and it wipes you out.

Back inside to the facemask and anti-bacterial handwash...
