After being cooped-up in the house all day, I went for a walk up the Sluice earlier and what a refreshing change I saw.
There are new steps in place on the first 10 pegs, which should banish the prospect of scrabbling up the bank on all fours at the end of your session. A word of caution to all the scaffolders in the area - lock up your boards - they look like they're in demand if the superhuman efforts on the bank are anything to go by. Even the infamous peg 1 has had the steps treatment - its dead easy to get to now:

The footings are in for the bridge (surrounding grass freshly mown by the looks of things) so there's something else on the go and likely to be complete before the start of the season.The banks are in great nick and there's plenty of water in the system - lets hope it stays that way without too much drastic pumping activity.
