W&DAA Flyer - Heatons Bridge

Thirty-odd anglers turned out yesterday for the last Sunday flyer before the W&DAA Teams of Four event. Slight confusion at the start when the car park filled up - nobody appeared to have told the landlord at the pub we were coming. That was soon sorted when little Les went to the door with a quid from each car and the promise of a fair few more over the bar when we'd finished.

On to the sport, and I drew nine pegs down from the bridge opposite the end boat at the back of the pub. From the off it was a bite a chuck on the punch, but although the fish kept coming, they weren't fast enough or big enough to keep pace with the eventual winner, Rob Porter. Rob was two pegs to my left with Kev Stothers between us. Dave McGuinn was on the end peg immediately to my right and was overall third with an all roach bag including some nice netters.

Further to my left, Pete Lucas did well with 2lb 11oz, and through the bridge the sections were won with 2lb 8oz and 2lb 3oz.

RESULT:

1 Rob Porter (Mosella Lostock Tackle Box MG) 4lb 2oz
2 Steve Ratcliffe (Bolton) 3lb 13oz
3 Dave McGuinn (Tricast Rochdale) 3lb 4oz
4 Les Ryding (Chorley Socials) 3lb 2oz
