We climbed off the bottom for the final match of the league after nearly doing it a fortnight ago when we dragged Leigh down towards us in the basement position.
How is it that a lovely-looking day suddenly turns to torrential rain when someone shouts "ALL-IN!!" ?? The wind was getting up there for a time, wasn't it? Gradually it subsided to the point that on the "ALL-OUT!!" it was a veritable mill-pond in front of me. Given the weather we've had over the last 6 weeks, I supposed it was only to be expected.
As you can see, there's been a lot of talk about weather and not a lot about fishing. Given the results - and wishing to avoid an impression of a man wearing clown shoes walking across a minefield without a map, I think it's probably wise to leave that subject alone...
Well done to Sams - there's no doubt they were head & shoulders the best team in the league - good luck on the Steak & Kidney in the semi-final.
The TCP boys did well to keep hold of second place - good luck to them at whatever mud-hole they've ended up on in the other semi.
Christmas is coming and there's a choice of matches next Sunday - the SDAA Xmas match at Sollom or the Bob Taberner at Burscough. Decisions, decisions...
