2009 S&DAA Summer League - Week 7

Back to the match length today and it proved to be a grueller for most, with a few DNWs. I'm still coughing & spluttering, so I was glad I drew peg 7 because that was about as far as I really wanted to walk - that pig 'flu dunt half make you sweat.

I had my experimenting head on today - well, I did have yesterday when I decided to try an different breadfeed concoction. It sort of worked in terms of how the overall match went, but I'm yet to be convinced. I mucked about with the principle ingredients that have served me well so far but with the sluice having pumped all day yesterday, it was fishing decidely 'off' today.

Trevor Roberts had a nice bag of roach ont themp and was second overall, but victor on the day was Lenny Stringfellow on the end peg (20) who had a nice bag of fish on caster. Joint third were Paul (Piking Private - 'I've only got two & a half pound') Clayton and Graham Johnson with 4lb 12oz.

The hilarious part of that outcome was that I finished up collecting more coin than either of them - and I only got my section with 3lb 10oz of roach. I don't know who looked more fed-up in the car park - Graham or Paul; any road up, we all got league points, so that's a good thing.

One thing that is getting fired off is that Sensas Pierotti hook length tyer-thingy. I lost four hooks today - all done on that bloody contraption. One was attached to a tench as it was heading for the net. That lost hook cost me second place today - given that the tench was at least three pounds and Trevor only managed 5lb-odd. Anyhow, thats all history and I'm going to devise an alternative hooklength maker - involving a length of timber, a nail and a Drennan hook-tyer; can't be worse than that French rubbish...

Back to the coughing - I don't think going fishing was a very good idea in the grand scheme of things...

Result to follow when Capt. Tabron emails it to me.
